15th Report – Giving Tuesday Appeal!

15th Report – Giving Tuesday Appeal!

Dear PPAF Supporters and Friends,

Tuesday December 1 is Giving Tuesday, a big day for support to non-profit organizations. The GlobalGiving crowdfunding platform will supply shares of $1 million to all its listed projects in keeping with amounts raised during these 24 hours.

PPAF is eager to raise additional funds for our important work in Haiti. Our 14th report was published just last week. It gives a lively description of coursework and surveys on solar cooking and biodigesters for biogas and garden fertilizer underway in response to demand at two project sites in Haiti.

You can see that in the Reports section of our GlobalGiving page or go straight to it here —https://www.globalgiving.org/dy/v2/pe/progress-report/edit-progress-report.html?project.projId=30822&progressReport.id=158981.

As an example of the engagement of young people in Haiti, let me share with you part of a message one has sent me this week –

I cook a lot during the past months. I always cook eggs, fruit banana, coffee, tea. I cook rice sometimes … I use less charcoal since I have the solar cooking. I show a lot of people how to use it and I did demonstrations in different places. Last week some guys and I were at the waterfall. All people around there are coming and very excited about the solar cooking. They saw we have food with the sun without using charcoal.

Attached is a photo of members of the latest solar cooking class at the university in Hinche, Haiti. They have completed a homework assignment to build their own solar cooker. Next is to cook and to learn more in class and in practice sessions.

Your support helps make these initiatives happen. Please join the efforts we and collaborators are advancing!
